MRID Camp ASL 2013

Camp ASL is a silent weekend for Interpreting students, recent graduates, working and experienced Interpreters, Deaf and Hard of Hearing Teachers, ASL Teachers, employees at the Deaf Schools, and any professional that works in the field of Sign Language and Deafness (Deaf and Hearing). It gives them an opportunity to immerse themselves into Deaf Culture for a full weekend. Camp ASL provides opportunities for participants to interact with Deaf people, attend workshops by Deaf presenters, earn CEUs/ASL hours, and increase signing comprehension and skills in an exclusively visual environment.

                Please come join us for a Power of Love and Prayer Yoga session.

       Everyone is welcome but session is done in ASL. No experience necessary!

Bowling Event Fundraiser Hosted by ASL Students from Minnetonka High School

Our ASL students from Minnetonka High school are hosting a bowling fundraiser event for Metro Deaf School (MDS).  The money raised will help MDS reach their goals by improving their Student Life Program such as drama and art clubs, sports and recreational activities.  Come on out and support this wonderful cause for Metro Deaf School!!!

2013 ADARA Conference Authors Session

The 2013 ADARA conference planning committee is pleased to announce a special "Authors Session" will be held on Wednesday evening, May 29, as a part of the opening Conference session.
The Authors session will allow authors of book(s) related to professionals working with Deaf, Deafened, and Hard of Hearing persons to have a table to promote and share their publications. The table will be available at no cost to the author. The tentative time for this session is 7:00 -8:30 pm on Wednesday May 29. The exact room location is not yet determined.

Linda Offutt will lead devotion.
Linda Offutt was born into an all hearing family and has been educated in both mainstream and Deaf school settings.  In 1990, she graduated from North Central University with a BA in Deaf Culture studies.  Linda has worked in a variety of settings, but most recently has felt God call her back to the Twin Cities Area.  She was voted to be NCU representative for Deaf/Deaf ministry alumni.  She will be part of adjunct faculty at NCU this summer.
